Renovating Your Kitchen? Consider Incorporating These 2016 Kitchen Trends

If you have recently committed to remodeling your kitchen, then you want to make sure that you make the right choices. There are a lot of areas in your kitchen that you can choose to remodel. There are fixtures, appliances, cabinetry, countertops, and flooring – and that’s just the beginning of it. You want the best return on investment that you can get it. To ensure you get the most bang for your buck now and in the future, you should consider these 2016 kitchen trends that won’t be losing traction anytime soon:

Quartz Countertops

Granite used to be the primary choice among countertops, but quartz seems to be inching up towards the top of the list. This may be because it is just as tough – if not more so. It has the ability to resist chips, burns and scratches. It looks just like granite, but its durability is unmatched. Unlike granite, quartz doesn’t have to be sealed on an annual basis in order to prevent stains.

LED Lighting

LEDs are becoming some of the most popular forms of lighting in all areas of the house, and they are now popping up as a top lighting choice among homeowners in kitchens in 2016. LEDs are some of the most energy-efficient and longest-lasting bulbs. Compared to CFLs, they can last five times as long and can last about 50,000 hours. They barely put off any heat and they can go just about anywhere – inside cabinet doors, along toe kicks to serve as nightlights, in the crown moldings and underneath the underside of cabinets. They’re even available in a variety colors, including white, green, blue and red.

Horizontal Cabinets

If you look in traditional homes, you will notice that the cabinetry tends to go vertically. However, in 2016, horizontal cabinetry is going to become very popular. Cabinets are becoming a lot wider nowadays. This provides a much more refined and cleaner appearance overall as well as easier access to the items that you need.
