Top Bathroom Remodeling Trends for 2014
It's summer. The kids are out of school. You've probably got vacation time saved up. However, no one wants to go on a vacation. So, what do you do with your time and vacation time? Why not consider bathroom remodeling? Whether you choose to do part or all of it yourself or hire a professional contractor to do the dirty work, here are a few bathroom remodeling trends for 2014 that you may want to consider incorporating into your new bathroom:
- Large Showers – Showers are becoming more and more popular in homes because hardly anyone has time to relax in a bubble bath anymore. Plus, in smaller bathrooms, removing the tub and replacing it with a large shower offers more space – or at the very least, the appearance of more space. Larger showers with more glass is becoming very popular this year.
- Glass Tile – Homeowners are also leaning toward the use of recycled glass tile in their bathrooms. Not only does glass tile look great, but you can “go green” with the recycled glass.
- Beige and Gray – When it comes to color schemes in the bathroom, white, gray and beige are winning homeowners over.
- More Light Sources – Homeowners want more light in their bathrooms. Some are preferring to add light by installing a window, adding lighted vanities or even installing a skylight.
- Double Sinks – Although it's more likely with older homeowners, it is expected that double sinks will continue to rise in popularity in bathroom remodels this year. After all, it's a true convenience.
- Multi-Head Rain Showers – Less is no longer more. In fact, when it comes to the bathroom shower, more is definitely more. A multi-head shower that “rains” down on you is becoming extremely popular. Plus, showers with heads on the side and other angles will improve the shower's functionality and easily adds luxury to the bathroom.
