3 Things To Consider When Gearing Up A Deck/Patio For Football Season
Are you ready for some football? Though the NCAA and NFL football seasons are well underway, it doesn’t mean that you can’t start prepping your home for entertaining. Maybe you are tired of your friends hosting all of the games and you are ready to start doing it. Unfortunately, you have nowhere to do it because your house simply isn’t big enough or you would rather do it outdoors yet you do have a functioning space – at least not yet.
With the right outdoor entertaining space, such as a deck or patio, you can host all types of parties, events and get-togethers. For football season, here are a few things you will want to keep in mind in terms of design:
- Space – Make sure that you take into consideration the number of people that you will likely be having over at any given time. You want to ensure that everyone has adequate space to fully enjoy themselves. In addition, you need to account for all of the furniture and other features that you will be installing. For example, for larger gatherings, a 6-foot by 6-foot deck simply won’t be adequate.
- Technology – Since the basic idea is to be able to watch the football game, you are going to need a television. There are many options to consider – flat-screen TVs, LED TVs, smart TVs, and more. Now, if you would rather stay away from an actual television being outside, you can always opt for a projector.
- Fire – Since most football games are played during the fall and winter, not to mention in the evening, you are going to be entertaining when it is cool outside. So, it may be a good idea to consider installing a fire feature, such as a fire pit or an outdoor fireplace. This will help keep everyone warm and add an excellent visual appeal to the space.
