We hired Structure Remodeling in a pretty involved remodeling of our 1970\' circa home. The project included a complete kitchen renovation, building a large screened-in front porch and updating a bathroom. I must say all three turned out much better than we ever dreamed. Donald and his crews did a fantastic job. There were no surprise costs, the project started and was completed on time and they always showed up when Donald said they would. After ten years of condo living, we decided to move back to our house which we had been leasing out to European military officers and their families. The only drawback at our advancing ages was that all the bedrooms in the house were upstairs. We thought that maybe we could add on a ground floor bedroom. We had four companies look and give us estimates and ideas. When Donald came and helped us assess the situation and looked at different options he had some interesting ideas and we liked his price. The house had an attached garage which could logically be modified to a ground floor bedroom suite. A detached garage could first be built in the back since there was plenty of room in the back yard. First he built the new garage and then helped us design a very nice master bedroom suite to be constructed in the original garage space. He located matching siding for the garage and the part of the house where the original garage door had been. He also helped us locate very skilled subcontractors to install the hardwood flooring in the new room and he and one of his men installed the tile in the new bathroom including a large shower with all glass walls and doors. The finished product looked very professional and it appeared as if it had been originally built that way. The end product was of superb quality and working with Donald and his crew was easy and quite rewarding. He often offered ideas that we accepted and any problems that were encountered were quickly solved. I have recommended Structure Remodeling to friends and they too have been quite satisfied with the quality and ethical standards that they experienced with Donald and his crew. (He also has a highly skilled office manager, Kerri, who contributes substantially to the success of the company). I met Donald Esslinger in 2005 when I lost a valuable item and Donald went out of his way, way out of his way, to see the item returned to me. In the last 5 years, we have used Structure Remodeling 2 times. This year we hired Donald to renovate our rental property. Donald was very helpful to suggest different ideas that looked great. He was very cooperative and trustworthy. He started the job and finished in a timely manner. The crew he used were very competent. Carrie, the office manager, keep things on target. We were very pleased with all their work.

We bought an existing home that required many upgrades in order to meet our standards. Many of the upgrades we did on our own, however, we really wanted a large concrete covered porch that was grand feeling and knew that job was too big for us to handle. We met with Donald on several occassions and due to the total cost of the project, we separated it into 3 projects until completed. Donald was wonderful through the whole process and provided us with a very large dream porch with high ceiling and columns. When we thought there was an issue with the roof of the porch on a weekend, Donald came right out with his roofer and it was determined that it was not a result of the construction, but instead was poor work done by a someone previous to our involvement with Donald. In any event, Donald fixed it for us then and there. Any work we do again on a house will only be done by Structure Remodelng (Donald). Also, we would be remiss if we did not mention how wonderful it was to work with Carrie in his office. We ended up having to move out of the state and our house sold within 24 hours of being put on the market. I largely attribute the quick sell to the wonderful back porch. We will be moving back to Huntsville within the year and we are sure we will be using Donald again... on our next house.

We were in a quandary since we did not know what to do next. I remembered that I saw on Drake Avenue some construction work being done on a house and that there was a sign from the construction company on the property. I stopped at the house and met a gentlemen who identified himself as the home owner. When I asked him about Structure Remodeling he told me that the work was terrific and that he would have more work later and that he would not have anyone else but them do it. We made an appointment with Donald and after spending the better part of a morning in which he surveyed the major portion of the damage; we had the feeling we were dealing with the right person. Donald cautioned us that this undertaking would be serious and difficult because of the nature of the damage and the unknowns once areas were exposed. He soon proposed a bid with some considerations as to how much damage would be exposed once the renovation was underway. When the renovation started and the damage was exposed he quickly assessed which kinds of costs overruns would occur and talked with us about how it could be approached so to minimize costs. In each case he presented ways in which he could minimize the costs and this always happened throughout the life of the project. The crew working with him was efficient, seemed to know all of the ramifications of the intricacies of the total project and was the funniest group of individuals one could hope to assemble. In concert with Donald we would plan a new strategy for an unforeseen problem only to turn around to find that Donald and the crew had solved the problem generally at half of the expected cost. One of the greatest areas of damage had occurred in the structure of the top floor of the house where two rooms and a porch are cantilevered for better than twenty feet. The crew hoisted four giant manufactured boards, which were then secured by several massive steel attachments that Donald had designed specifically for this job. Where ever renovation was necessary on the house the resultant work has made this a stronger, better- constructed house, in fact better and stronger than it was when it was built the first time. And don’t forget Kerri, who seems to be the lynch pin that keeps all of this working. Anyone reading this will note that we did not say that Structure Remodeling can walk on water, they can’t, but they are coming close. In a nano-second we would hire them for any future projects. \\

Doug and I have come to rely on Donald and his team for the last 8 years. They have done an excellent job on everything they have done. They do not hesitate to help us in everything from full remodels to small plumbing leaks. The whole team has definitely become family to us!
